Event Photography_Blues and Roots 2010

2010 Blues and Roots Festival...What a line up! It was an incredible festival with so much photo opportunity!

The first act I wanted to see was Newton Faulkner- a guitar hero! He is new to Australia but everyone loved him!

The next act I saw was Taj Mahal the musician who is a incredible Blues singer and song writer...

I have never heard of Gogol Bordello before and their performance blew me away! There was so much energy coming from the stage and uplifting the crowd! I think I have managed to capture their energy here...

After that great performance nothing really compared to them! They ended an awesome festival!

Life on a Farm

Dan and I had a great time living on a farm for a couple of months. It was an adventure of photo opportunity and beautiful sunsets every night! If we could bare the heat to go outside we would come across new things to photograph every day. There were always sheep wanting to model for you, but the skies were incredible up there.

We were surrounded by red dirt which made every photo come to life.

We wondered around the 15 acre farm and discovered an old farm house where guests used to live! It was a but worst for wear but still had beds and a cooker inside along with a bike and rocking chair!

We managed to lean inside to take a few more photos.

There was a farm sale at a neighbouring farm which we didn't want to miss! I remember it was such a windy day the sand was blowing everywhere and my skirt was blowing up! There were so many amazing things including an incredible range of old tractors! I would have had to come back again if I wanted to purchase anything but there were some once in a life time items there as the farm was up for sale which the family had obviously lived in for a few generations!

The sky up North is so blue. Oliver was my favourite tractor.

There was a cute little tricycle which caught my eye as soon as I got there! It would have been great for future photography sessions but just looking at it you almost step back in tome and think about the history and how many owners it must have had!

One morning the little lamb that was being bottle fed had been put back with the other group of lambs. We didn't want him to miss out on his bottle feed but he was too scared to come back to us now he was back with his friends. As you can see they kept running away from us!

There are so many more photos which I will have to add to this blog! This is just a taster.

The Power House

Today we went to Fremantle for a Photography session with other photography enthusiasts. It was the second time I have been and it is always full of models, photographers and graffiti artists! It is incredible inside and some of the art work in phenomenal! We had enter through a broken window and take torches so we didn't fall into a hole in the ground(admittedly a little scary). Thank fully we met a graffiti artist who gave us some great pointers which really helped us out! We went with a model and make up artist to get some cool and creative shots.

Cheryl was our model and isn't she look beautiful. She is a beginner but non of us could tell! Cheryl wanted to go for a grungy look to begin with which was great against the graffiti.

This stair case was amazing so we had to get some shots here.

I wanted to create an urban bride look- I think we achieved it with the contrast of the graffiti against the vintage wedding dress.

We will be planning another shoot together so watch this space...

Isabella Chloe

"A new baby is like the beginning of all things, hope, a dream of possibilities."

Since coming to Australia I am surrounded friends and family of Dan's who keep having babies! I am so lucky to be able to have these people around me. I would never have learned just how special babies are of all ages and just watching them grow up and learn new things every day is irreplaceable. I was lucky enough to capture some shots of Izzy. Not even one yet she was a delight to photograph whilst we hung out with Graeme and Kat.

Izzy loved rolling around on her mat. It made us realise how fast babies learn. She was holding her bottle herself and rolling around everywhere! They must be dreading the day they will come in to find she has wondered off on her own!

Sitting on daddies lap and pulling faces at Uncle Dan was a big hit! We have learned how to make her smile atleast!

Cuddles with mummy are a big hit!

It was such a pleasure to photograph little Izzy and we will look forward to meeting her new little sister for another photo session.
